Our great-grandmother was an amazing woman. And here, one hundred years later, we have her diary.
Take a trip to the past through the eyes of a teen-age girl, and marvel at how the world has changed -
and the many ways it has not.

August 21, 1912 - Wednesday

21. Went to office about 11 A. M. (again, obviously to write letters and (also again) did not do it) and as it rained we had a nice little lunch at the office. It was fine!! I went home with Muz at 5 P. M. Saw Dan at supper and he assured me that he was not "mad"last night and that I had a perfect right to refuse to go out if I chose (I agree with him there, emphatically. I won't be bossed by any fool boy ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ) Harry Atkins is coming back the 28th, I think, Thank the Source of all blessings! I really wish it were sooner, so I do.
Later - Came home at 8 o'clock. Mr. C and his banjo came and Chris was greatly edified by that latter.
