29. Went for a ride in Dr. Cook's automobile. We rode for about 4 hours, from 8.30 to 12.30. Went to Mrs. Mahoney's in the evening and Agnes Ahern (according to Dan, "a witch") was here. Donald has heard so much about her from Dan and me that he says he wants to meet her and told Dan to telephone him next time she came, but Donald didn't. It would not have done very much good anyhow, as she is about three years his senior, and had two admirers with her as it was. She generally has two or more along whenever she comes here.
I sent this book over at Mrs. Mahoney's but sent it home with Muz after supper as I'd hate to have anyone read it. Took Dan's diary and got him so raving mad that he could hardly see straight. It's queer how Dan and I both like to take diaries and hate so to have ours taken, but 'tis ever thusly!
Miss Hastings asked me if I would write for the Chronicle. I surely will if I can think up a subject.
I notice that the man who has the automobile is a doctor. I wonder if at this point, the only people that could afford cars were the more "well off."
ReplyDeleteYes, I just love how she documents every car ride, as each one is a special occasion!
