Our great-grandmother was an amazing woman. And here, one hundred years later, we have her diary.
Take a trip to the past through the eyes of a teen-age girl, and marvel at how the world has changed -
and the many ways it has not.

July 5, 1912 - Friday

5 Was too lazy to go to breakfast so ate pretzels and peanut butter instead and two ice cream cones. Got Mrs. Dibble to sew up my new dresses and they had not been turned up so all the good it did was to add an extra row of stitches. Bought Don’s tennis ball. I need one anyway and it was new. Sat for awhile on the porch with him. He was awfully nice but I’m afraid I bored him rather. Buelah saw me with him. She’ll tell Irene. I don’t care. I’m rather glad if anything.

  1. :O! She ate ice cream for breakfast! My mom doesn't let me eat ice cream before 12 am! I don't know how she gets away with it!
